I found this dj/producer the other day, completely at random. I was going through a folder of random netlabel mp3 downloads placing them in the proper organized directories.
Generally, I skip through the track, with a quick evaluation of (1) do I want to bother keeping this at all, and (2) what genre and hierarchical structure to give it.
This set, though, for some reason, I let play all the way through. like 4 times.
Bambaat - Obscured Rays 1
I kept trying to rationalize how I could genuinely like a (house, trance, progressive, breaks) track... Eventually I just allowed myself to believe that there are talented and inspired artists in every genre.
Granted, there are some cheesy-as-hell tracks in some of these sets. But, they are offset by the truly amazing beautiful ones.
Good stuff. While I've been coding this weekend I've had Bambaat on the air, non-stop.
